Would you believe it..

I started this blog because I had never put down the daily events of the Olde Kings arms in any particular format.

Yesterday was Eddie's funeral.

Eddie was a well loved man in and around Hemel Hempstead. He and his wife Lorraine would spend many a night in the front bar of the pub, he with his old fashioned glass jug brimming with Newcastle Brown; she with a soft drink and the latest 'word-search'

He would regale the listening bar with tales of his many exploits, not always legal, but never hurting anyone.

They had a huge circle of family and friends, the church was full to capacity with standing-room only at the back.

Afterwards, there was a serious send-off in the Olde Kings Arms, which was an all day affair, followed up the next morning with some hunting around for anadin and fresh water...

Here's to Eddie!!!

The Olde Kings Arms is a traditional pub built around 1603, and is situated in the Old Town Hemel Hempstead and comprises of two bars, a garden and eight beautiful en-suite executive bedrooms, which we're very proud of.

Feel free to check it out at this link: www.oldekingsarms.com

I don't know when the next (mini) blog will be, but as I said, this has been my first....hopefully not the first and only!!
